Position Overview 

The Director of Retail Media will lead and oversee the company’s Retail Media division, ensuring the seamless execution of retail media advertising solutions for clients across multiple platforms. This senior leadership role is responsible for building, managing, and optimizing client-facing services that drive exceptional results and satisfaction. The Director will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Account Management, Data Analytics, Product, and Operations, to deliver on client objectives and maintain high standards of service delivery in the dynamic retail media space. 

Key Responsibilities 

Strategic Leadership & Oversight: 

Retail Media Strategy: Develop and execute a strategy for the Retail Media division that aligns with the company’s overall vision, focusing on client success, operational excellence, and continuous innovation in retail media advertising. 

Service Delivery Excellence: Oversee the delivery of client services, ensuring that campaigns and solutions are optimized for performance, meet client goals, and adhere to high standards of quality and efficiency. 

Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve internal processes, workflows, and systems to drive operational efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance client satisfaction.

Client-Centric Focus: Lead the team to deliver tailored retail media solutions for clients, ensuring that all retail media engagements are aligned with client objectives, timelines, and budgets. 

Team Leadership & Development: 

Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of managed services professionals, including account managers, campaign managers, data analysts, and other support roles. 

Talent Development: Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and career development opportunities to ensure the team’s growth and the development of industry-leading expertise.

Resource Planning: Oversee staffing needs, workload distribution, and resource allocation to ensure the team is adequately equipped to handle client demands while maintaining a high level of service. 

Client Relationship & Stakeholder Management: 

Client Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, including senior stakeholders, decision-makers, and partners, to ensure ongoing satisfaction and growth opportunities. 

Consultative Leadership: Act as a trusted advisor to clients, helping them understand and leverage retail media advertising solutions that maximize their ROI and achieve their business objectives. 

Escalation Management: Oversee and resolve any escalated client issues or challenges, ensuring timely resolution and maintaining high levels of client trust and satisfaction. 

Client Reporting & Insights: Ensure regular and transparent communication with clients, providing detailed performance reports, insights, and recommendations for campaign optimization. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration: 

Sales & Account Management Support: Collaborate with the Sales and Account Management teams to understand client needs, craft solutions, and support the onboarding process for new clients. 

Product & Data Teams: Work closely with Product and Data teams to develop and implement new capabilities, technologies, and strategies that enhance the managed services offering.

Marketing Alignment: Partner with Marketing to ensure managed services are effectively positioned in the market, and support marketing campaigns with insights and success stories. 

Operational Excellence & Financial Management: 

Operational Efficiency: Implement best practices for campaign execution, budget management, and client onboarding to ensure consistent and efficient service delivery. 

Financial Oversight: Develop and manage budgets for the Retail Media division, tracking performance against financial goals and ensuring profitability. 

Performance Metrics & KPIs: Define, monitor, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the success of managed services, including client satisfaction, campaign performance, and operational efficiency. 

Innovation & Market Leadership: 

Industry Trends & Best Practices: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and new approaches in retail media advertising, integrating these insights into the service offerings to keep the company at the forefront of the market.

Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the Retail Media team, ensuring the team stays ahead of trends and adopts best practices in retail media and managed services delivery. 

Qualifications 

Education & Experience: 

Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree is a plus. 

10+ years of experience in managed services, digital marketing, or retail media advertising, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing service delivery or operations. 

Proven experience managing cross-functional teams, driving customer success, and delivering complex solutions in a client-facing environment. 

Experience in retail media, digital advertising, e-commerce, or related fields is highly desirable.
